John D. Woollis, 97, died Friday, Dec. 7, at Care One in East Brunswick.
Born in Merchantville, he resided in Mt. Holly and New Brunswick before moving to East Brunswick 63 years ago.
Prior to his retirement 32 years ago, he was a refrigeration engineer at ER Squibb in North Brunswick for over 30 years. He was a World War II Veteran of the US Coast Guard, and was a member of the Amvets of East Brunswick and the Squibb Retirees Club. He was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church, East Brunswick.
He was predeceased by his wife, Betty M. Fischer Woollis, in 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne Pigot and her husband Owen of Herndon, Va.; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine, Stephen, Joanna and John; and three great grandchildren, Madeline, Raelynn, and Allison.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, at 9 a.m. in the , followed by a 10 a.m. service at Nativity Lutheran Church, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
