Unidentified Man Critically Burned in Spotswood Car Fire

He sustained major burns in a car fire Monday on Brunswick Avenue.

Spotswood, NJ - An unidentified Spotswood resident was seriously burned after his car caught fire in Spotswood Monday.

He sustained major burns, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey and Spotswood Police Chief Michael Zarro said. The car fire occurred on Brunswick Avenue in Spotswood, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office was called to assist. One occupant, the man, was injured and he was rushed by Medevac helicopter to the Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, where he is in critical condition.

All police would say is that he is a Spotswood resident, but they either do not know or chose not to release his identity. Anyone who might have witnessed the car fire, or have information, is asked to call Detective Joseph Chesseri of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3115, or Sergeant Edward Schapley of the Spotswood Police Department at (732) 416-1870.
