Train Cars Found Ablaze In East Hanover: Police
The cause of the late-night fire is still under investigation.
EAST HANOVER, NJ — Two railroad cars were fully engulfed in flames in East Hanover Thursday night, and the cause is still under investigation.
Nearby residents reported smelling smoke just before 11 p.m. Thursday night, police said. East Hanover police found the two railroad cars on fire behind a Melanie Lane industrial complex.
The train cars were on the commercial use Morristown and Erie Railroad Tracks.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the East Hanover Police, Morris County Sheriffs Office and the Morris County Prosecutors Office.
A number of first responder agencies responded or assisted: Florham Park, Whippany, Madison, Morris Plains, Parsippany District 5, Morris Township and Livingston Fire Departments; the Morris County Fire Coordinator and the Morris County Office of Emergency Management, and The East Hanover Office of Emergency Management. The East Hanover First Aid Squad responded and was assisted by Florham Park, Parsippany, Morris Minutemen, and Cedar Knolls First Aid Squads.
