RC Smith at Catch New Jersey Friday, November 21 2014
RC Smith is known in the television and comedy industry as one of the best warm-up men in the business. A truly great warm-up comic can jump-start an audience from nothing to something and has to do it right from the start. He has to have great energy as soon as he hits the stage and he has to be right on the money. Quick. Smooth. Funny. RC Smith is that guy!
RC is currently the warm-up comic for “The Rachael Ray Show” and has also done warm-up for “The Colbert Report,” “The Tony Danza Show,” “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” “The Caroline Rhea Show,” “The Ricki Lake Show,” and NBC’s “Clash Of The Choirs.” Not only does RC ignite a live television studio audience, he also does the same thing in a comedy club, theatre, private party or corporate event. BOOM! He hits the stage on fire!
RC possesses the ornate ability to work with an audience. His style is rapid-fire, relentless, and non-stop. And he gets away with it because he’s so damn likeable. His improvisational style makes it look like his act is made up on the spot even though a lot of his material is true and tested. He’s just so good at it … it looks spontaneous and he’s in control the whole time. RC headlines all around the country and Canada and is a regular on a handful of 50,000 watt radio stations around the country which is a true testament to his adaptability, likeability, and creativity.
RC’s influences are Don Rickles, Lenny Bruce, Groucho Marx and Gene Simmons. His loyal friend Joey Kola is credited with helping RC get into the warm-up business. Thanks for the day job Joey!
