Monmouth Convenience Store Sells $1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket

New Jersey lottery winners announced on Dec. 29.

The holidays just became a little bit sweeter for some New Jersey residents after New Jersey Lottery winners were announced on Monday, Dec. 29.

One Monmouth County ticket won the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot of $1,015,698 for the Friday, Dec. 26 drawing, according to a press release from the New Jersey Lottery. The ticket was purchased from Grover Convenience and Pizza, located at 179 South Street in Freehold. The winning Monmouth ticket was the only one that matched all five numbers drawn.

The winning numbers were 07, 17, 19, 29 and 43.

Additionally, one Essex County ticket won the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot of $76,797 for the Saturday, Dec. 27 drawing, the press release said. The winning ticket was purchased at the Hudson News #3, located at 1 Raymond Place West in Newark. The winning Essex ticket was the only one sold for the Saturday drawing that matched all five numbers drawn.

The numbers on the jackpot winning ticket were 03, 07, 11, 32 and 40.

Though they did not win the jackpot, thousands of other Cash 5 participants won prizes ranging from $12 to $448 in the two drawings.

The Pick 6 Lotto jackpot did not have a winner, rolling over to $9.1 million. Additionally, Mega Millions nor Powerball drew winning tickets, rolling over to $172 million and $120 million respectively. However, the Mega Millions drawing did have five $5,000 third prizewinning tickets matching four white balls and the Gold Mega Ball, the press release said.
