Local Students Earn Dean's List Honors at Respective Colleges

A pair of students who call the area home were named to the Dean’s List at colleges, according to reports issued through the readmedia news service.

Galloway resident Andrew Dowling was named to the Dean's List for the 2012 fall semester at Messiah College by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale. Dowling is a senior majoring in engineering.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.

Absecon resident Sarah Young, a sophomore Early Childhood/Special Education major at York College of Pennsylvania, has been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Located in south central Pennsylvania, York College offers more than 50 baccalaureate majors in professional programs, the sciences and humanities to its 4,600 undergraduate students. The College also offers master's programs in business, education and nursing, and a doctorate in nursing practice.
