Woman Protests At Turnpike Authority Public Information Center

Public information session was held on Monday at Stockton.

Woman Protests At Turnpike Authority Public Information Center

Lynette Myland came to the on Monday ready to speak her mind, and she wasn't the only one.

She called the Turnpike Authority's plans, "fiscal insanity."

"I have to live within my means," she said. "And the state has to live within its means."

She also said that the plan, which includes interchanges at Jimmie Leeds Road, which would cut off access to the Atlantic City rest stop and create a new State Police Barracks at the location, and at Pomona Road, would "disenfranchise a section of the community that is important to us."

Myland's sign read:

"It's fiscal insanity:

  • To move the State Police 4 miles for 7 million.
  • To alter a full service interchange for 25 million
  • When the WHPK needs a full interchange instead."
