A Trio of Cops Catch a Trio Charged with Car Burglaries
An alert township police officer on his way to work played a key role Friday in rounding up a trio subsequently charged with auto burglaries and drug offenses.

The officer teamed with an on-duty detective and another off-duty patrolman to make the arrests. A police report identified the arresting officers as Ptl. D. Rambo and Det. M. Leach. The third officer involved was not immediately identified.

According to the report, one of the officers was on his way to work, driving his personal vehicle, when he spotted a man and a woman allegedly engaged in a suspicious activity on Cecelia Drive in the Blackwood section of the township.

The patrolman and an officer already on duty stopped the pair and determined the man, Jamie House, 29, of Alexandria, VA, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and the woman, Evelyn Taylor, 30, also of Alexandria, was not detained.

A vehicle Taylor was driving was later spotted in front of a store on Church Street. Taylor and another man were observed allegedly acting suspiciously and a search of her car turned up a number of stolen GPS and cell phones taken from local unlocked vehicles, police said.

Taylor and Nicholas Wine, 28, of Stafford, VA., and House were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. Bail was set at $60,000.
