Gloucester Twp. Police: DWI Enforcement Push Nabs Six Offenders

Gloucester Township Police Department released the following press release regarding its DWI enforcement push over the Memorial Day weekend:

Gloucester Township Police conducted enhanced DWI enforcement patrols this past holiday weekend as well as a DWI checkpoint on Saturday, May 26, on Berlin-Cross Keys Road. The patrols began Thursday night and ended Monday night. Six drivers were arrested for driving while intoxicated. Two drivers were arrested at the checkpoint Saturday night. Two drivers were also charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

These DWI enforcement details were funded by a Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund administered by the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. Officers assigned to these enforcement details focus their efforts on roadways within the township that have been identified as having increased traffic volume and a past history of DWI arrests.

The DWI checkpoint was funded by a Camden County Regionalized DWI Enforcement Sobriety Checkpoint $2,000 grant that was administered by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
