Police Charge Woman for Filing False Report
Gloucester Township Police charged Tonya Brown,44, of Filing a False Police Report after she claimed to be a victim of an armed robbery.

Police say that Brown, who lives on the 400 block of the Black Horse Pike in Blackwood, reported that she was robbed by a black male who had a handgun.

Brown told officers she was approached by two black males in a maroon vehicle. She said they took her wallet, which contained $700.

When Brown was interviewed at police headquarters police noticed inconsistencies with her story. According to police, Brown recanted her story.

It was later determined that she fabricated the Armed Robbery story because she was late on her rent.

Brown was charged and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of $1000 bail.
