Second SAVE Support Group Meeting in Gloucester Township Feb. 4

The purpose of the SAVE Support Group is to provide a voice to adults who struggle with family members who are addicted to drugs and alcohol

The second SAVE Support Group meeting is set for Wednesday, Feb. 4, 5:30 p.m. at the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Family Resource Center.

The Family Resource Center is located at 1324 Little Gloucester Road in the Blackwood section of the Township.

The purpose of the SAVE Support Group is to provide a voice to adults who struggle with family members who are addicted to alcohol or other drugs.

Participants explore ways of handling common problems and make changes in their own attitude and behavior toward the addict.

The first meeting was held earlier this week.

Additionally, the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Community Relations Bureau recently trained a new officer, Ptl. Dave Vannoni, to teach 5th and 7th grade students the newly titled L.E.A.D.(Law Enforcement against Drugs) program.

The program title has changed but the students will still receive a 10-week program created by the Mendez Foundation that teaches the students how to deal with the problems of alcohol and drugs and the facts about them.

The program is titled” L.E.A.D. on the street and in the classroom.”
