Bob Parsons Wins Haddonfield Citizen of the Year

The announcement was made at the 42nd Annual Mayor's Breakfast on Saturday.

He says he still thinks of himself as a Hoosier.

But after 41 years in Haddonfield, Bob Parsons is more than just an honorary Easterner.

He was introduced as the Haddonfield Citizen of the Year on Saturday at the 42nd Annual Mayor's Breakfast, sponsored by the Haddonfield Lions Club. Parsons, 77, a retired electrical engineer and sales manager, was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN.

But now, he's the ubiquitous face of Haddonfield. He's the stadium announcer for Haddonfield Memorial High School Football games and the unofficial borough videographer. He can often be spotted with camera in hand at parades, sporting events and occasions like the annual Mayor's Breakfast.

In fact, that just where he was when Mayor Jeff Kasko announced he was the winner today.

"That's OK," Parsons said. "I like having my picture taken."
