Weis Appears to Be Filling Pathmark Vacancy

Hillsborough may be getting a new supermarket. What are your thoughts?

Weis Appears to Be Filling Pathmark Vacancy

Good news (hopefully)! According to the KIMCO website, it looks like Weis Markets will be moving into the last April in the Hillsborough Promenade on Route 206.

At the time of writing this blog, I had placed a call to the agent handling the property. However, I had not heard back for comment on this issue. All indications are that the KIMCO website is up-to-date regarding this particular (former) vacancy in the Hillsborough Promenade.

I had spoken to Township Committeeman Frank DelCore, and he said, “the Business Advocate office heard that this was a possibility.”

DelCore could not confirm that the lease had been signed, or if it still was in the process of being signed, but indications look like Hillsborough may be getting another supermarket and one less commercial vacancy.

As of right now, I am not sure of when Weis Markets will be opening here. The Weis Markets website does not have Hillsborough listed in its store locator database yet.  So, I suppose we’ll all have to stay tuned!

Personally, I’m thrilled to see another supermarket move into that location. It alleviates a lot of the parking and shopping congestion over by , and gives residents another choice. It’s also really nice to see another anchor store there.   When Pathmark was in that location, it was always convenient to do “one stop shopping” in the Hillsborough Promenade; get my groceries, gardening supplies (at Lowe’s), and pick up some clothes (at Kohl’s). Oh yes, of course there are many more stores in that plaza. But you know what I mean.

All I have left to say on this issue is: “Welcome Weis!”
