Police Rescue Driver Before Car Ignites Into Flames In Somerset County
The driver suffered minor injuries following the crash on Sunday night.
SOMERSET, NJ — A car became engulfed in flames following a crash in Somerset on Sunday night.
At 11:41 p.m., Franklin Police, Somerset Fire & Rescue, and Franklin Fire District 1 responded to a reported car fire with entrapment on Davidson Avenue and Pierce Street in the Somerset section of the township.
When firefighters arrived, Franklin Police had already rescued the driver, said Somerset Fire & Rescue Co. No. 1.

The sole person in the car suffered a minor injury, said Franklin Police Captain Vincent T. Wilson.
The car ignited following a single car crash.

The fire was extinguished by Engine 562 and Rescue 56, with additional support from Engine 442, FP44 Car 28, Car 282 and Squad 28.
