The city is planning to extend the grace period to pay property taxes for the fourth quarter of the year to Dec. 3, in the wake of Sandy's devastation.
The division of local government services has allowed the city of Hoboken to extend the deadline. According to the resolution on Wednesday night's agenda, the extension is in order "to provide residents with additional time to make tax payments without incurring interest fees, in response to the local devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy."
The original deadline for the taxes was November 14.
Taxpayers who miss the December 3 deadline "will be charged the statutorily defined interest starting from the original November 14th delinquency date," according to the resolution.
