Hoboken Board of Ed Approves New Superintendent: Five-Year Contract Starts in July

Board members give the nod to Boonton Schools' superintendent, Christine Johnson.

The Hoboken School District’s search for a permanent superintendent is almost over.

During their Tuesday meeting, the Hoboken Board of Education approved a five-year contract with Christine Johnson, the Boonton Public School District’s current superintendent.

Johnson also served as the superintendent for the Mendham Township School District.

Johnson’s contract will begin on July 15, 2015, and run through June 30, 2020. She will replace Interim Superintendent Richard Brockel, who has served as the district’s top administrator since last year following the departure of former Superintendent Richard Brockel.

The appointment still awaits final ratification from the Hudson County School Superintendent before it becomes official.
