Portion of Adams Street Remains Closed
Closure needed so a speed table can be constructed beneath the viaduct.
The section of the roadway was closed at 7 a.m. Monday for about 72 hours, according to a city statement. The closure is needed to allow for the placement and curing of concrete for speed table construction below the viaduct.
This will be the second of four speed tables, which are long speed humps with a flat section in the middle that can be used for pedestrian crossings.
Pedestrian traffic will be allowed during the road closure. A Hudson County Sheriff will be at the scene to direct traffic.
Similar closures on Jefferson and Madison streets are expected over the next few weeks.
