Road Rage: Machete-Wielding Driver Hacks At Car In Holland Tunnel
The New York man attacked another motorist while driving into Jersey, police say.

A motorist allegedly leaned out the window of his moving car and hacked away at another vehicle during an apparent road rage incident in the Holland Tunnel on Wednesday, June 17.
According to Port Authority Police, the incident took place around 10:15 p.m., as the suspect - Joel A. Estevez, 29, of New York – was driving his 2013 Honda wagon into New Jersey.
When Estevez approached Varick and Broome streets, he got into an argument with a 49-year-old man in a 2013 Toyota. As the two motorists drove through the tunnel, Estevez allegedly leaned out his window and struck the side of the other car with a machete.

The victim took down the license plate number of the Honda wagon and notified Port Authority police via phone. He then reportedly followed Estevez, losing track of him as he drove over the Pulaski Bridge.
Nobody was injured during the incident, police stated.

After interviewing the victim and conducting an investigation, Port Authority detectives tracked Estevez to his home in Brooklyn and arrested him on Thursday evening without incident.
Estevez was charged with Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Mischief and Simple Assault.
