Head-On Crash Kills Driver in Northern New Jersey, Cops Say
Stockholm woman crossed into oncoming traffic, police report.
A northern New Jersey woman died Thursday morning when the vehicle she was driving crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a dump truck in Sparta, police said.
At 9:56 a.m., police responded to a “serious” head-on crash on Route 517 near the Sparta Middle School, Sgt. Dennis Proctor said. An investigation revealed the driver of a 2000 Cadillac, Donna Golian, 56, of Stockholm, was traveling north on Route 517 when her car crossed the double yellow lines into the southbound lane, Proctor said.
As a result, Golian struck a 1997 Dodge Ram mason dump truck, driven by Rodrigo Montes, 49, of Madison, Proctor said. The crash led to a leg injury for Montes, who was taken to Newton Medical Center, Proctor said.
