The Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Foundation Presents the Thirteenth Annual Memorial Beefsteak Dinner

Memorial Dinner Raises Funds to Support the Sussex County Fairgrounds and More!

AUGUSTA, NJ-On Saturday, May 17th, at 5 p.m., the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Foundation will be hosting its annual Beefsteak Dinner. This delicious event has become a fun tradition that benefits not only The Fairgrounds, but also other charitable work connected with the The Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Association.

The late Peter J. Cofrancesco, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, leaders in the quarter horse world and strong believers in the power of community contribution and charitable events founded the Beefsteak Dinner. The event was later adopted by the Directors of the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show, and has continued to be popular and successful ever since. The goal remains the same: to encourage The Fairgrounds to remain beautiful and beneficial for the community. Continued improvements, preservation, and beautification are vital to keeping The Fairgrounds going for many years to come, and the Beefsteak Dinner is one of many ways this can be accomplished. The Foundation and the Association are 501 (c) (3) organizations.

The Brownstone of Paterson and the Homestead Rest will be catering the charitable event, serving up an endless supply of succulent, tender, filet mignon, as well as an assortment of tasty sides. In addition to the food, guests will enjoy dancing, a tricky tray with amazing prizes, and live auctions! Prizes are donated by community businesses, and in the past have included gift certificates, free items, and passes for The Fair. The grand prize of the night is the chance to win up to $10,000!

Seating is limited to 600 people, so reserve your seats now to make sure you don’t miss out on the fun! Tickets are $50 each; quite a bargain for all the excitement, good food, and chance to win more! In addition to supporting The Fairgrounds, this event will raise donations for other charitable events associated with the New Jersey State Fair, including 4-H, Boy & Girl Scouts of America, local agriculture, and more!

The event will be held in the Richards Buildings of The Fairgrounds, located at 37 Plains Road. Contact Peggy Cofrancesco, Project Coordinator, for more information at 973-903-763. Fairgrounds office hours are currently from Tuesday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. To find out more about The Fair, call 973.948.5500, email thefair@njstatefair.org, or visit www.njstatefair.org.
