Howell Man, Jackson Man Injured In Head-On Crash
The men suffered broken bones and other injuries but they are believed to not be life-threatening, police said.

A Howell Township man and a Jackson Township man were injured Saturday in a head-on collision in Jackson, police said.
Joseph Santangelo, 59, of Howell, was eastbound on West Veterans Highway in a 2002 Mercedes Benz when his car crossed the center line and hit a 2004 Saturn driven by Joseph Zippo, 34, of Jackson near the intersection with Thompson Bridge Road, Jackson Township Police Capt. Steven Laskiewicz said.
Both men had to be extricated from their cars, Laskiewicz said, which was done by personnel from Station 56. Jackson First Aid and MONOC paramedics also responded, he said.

Zippo was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, while Santangelo was taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and broken bones from the crash, Laskiewicz said.
The investigation is being conducted by Sgt. Rich Bosley, Patrol Officer Kevin Chesney and Patrol Officer Joe Candido. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact police headquarters at 732-928-1111.
