Man Found Dead In Howell Home Depot Lot Identified: Prosecutor

Weldon Spaulding Jr., 61, of Tinton Falls was found dead on the ground, authorities said. An autopsy is set for Saturday.

HOWELL, NJ — A Tinton Falls man has been identified as the person found dead Friday afternoon in the parking lot at Home Depot on Route 9, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said Friday night.

Weldon Spaulding Jr., 61, of Tinton Falls, was found lying on the ground in the parking lot at the plaza at the corner of Route 9 south and West Farms Road, Gramiccioni said. Spaulding was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

An autopsy is expected to be performed on Saturday to determine a cause and manner of death, Gramiccioni said.

Howell police responded to a 911 call at 1:31 p.m. Friday reporting a man lying on the ground, he said.

The joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Howell Township Police Department is active and ongoing.
