Howell municipal offices will be closed on Monday in recognition of Martin Luther King Day but when business resumes on Tuesday it will include a meeting of the Howell Township Council.
After a busy agenda to start the year the council has a lighter preliminary agenda though more items could be added before Mayor Bill Gotto gavels the meeting to order. Items on the agenda include authorizing a contract for work on Ford Road using a Community Development Block Grant totalling $340,863. There is also a resolution making a no passing zone on Route 34 near milepost 10.
The Women of Words Book Club is scheduled to meet at the Howell Public Library on Wednesday night starting at 7 p.m. It could be the best of times and the worst of times this month as the club discusses Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities.
