Major Ocean County Heroin Bust Nets Three From North Jersey

Major Ocean County Heroin Bust Nets Three From North Jersey

An Irvington man is back in the Ocean County Jail after he was arrested for possession and distribution of heroin, little more than a month after he was arrested on the same charges.

Shaun M. Anderson, 35, is lodged in the jail in lieu of $300,000 bail, with no ten percent option. His wife Ramona and a Newark man are facing the same charges, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato said.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, Northern Enforcement Unit determined on Sept. 9 that Anderson was using a 2001 BMW to distribute heroin in Ocean County, Coronato said.

Police spotted Shaun Anderson's BMW on Dover Road in South Toms River at 7 p.m. on Sept. 9.

SOP detectives and detectives from the South Toms River Police Department located the car at 7 p.m., in the area of 380 Dover Road in South Toms River.

Anderson, his wife Ramona Anderson, 40, Irvington and Cailee Jackson, 23, Newark, were inside the BMW. Detectives search the car and found 350 individual dosage units of heroin, along with $1,500 in cash, Coronato said.

All three were subsequently arrested and transported to the South Toms River Police Department, then to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. The 2001 BMW was also seized pending forfeiture proceedings, authorities said.

Anderson, 270 Eastern Parkway, Irvington, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel Daniels set his bail at $300,000, with no ten percent option.

Ramona Anderson was also charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute. She is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $50,000, with no ten percent option.

Cailee Jackson, 23, Nye Avenue, Newark, was also charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. His bail was set at $75,000, with no ten percent option.

Shaun Anderson was arrested on the same charges on Aug. 1. County detectives and detectives from the Berkeley Township Police Department searched a black 2004 Infiniti FX 35, based on a tip that Anderson was using the car to store and distribute heroin, Coronato has said.

The Infiniti was found in the parking lot of the Wendy's Restaurant on Route 37 West near Bananier Drive. That search yielded 3,500 individual units of heroin, along with $2,200 in cash.

Anderson was charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute in the August incident. His bail was set at $135,000 cash.

The recovered heroin had an approximate street value of $14,000 dollars. The 2004 Infiniti was also seized pending forfeiture proceedings.

The Toms River and Berkeley Township police departments assisted in the arrest.
