Parents Invited to Free Workshop About ADHD

“ADHD – Coaching Children for Success” will be held Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Lawrence High School.

“ADHD – Coaching Children for Success” is the topic of a free workshop to be held Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Lawrence High School, organized by the Character Team at Lawrenceville Elementary School and funded by a grant from the Lawrence Township Education Foundation.

The workshop’s keynote address will be presented by Katherine McGavern.  Mrs. McGavern is an ADHD Coach.  She is the co-founder of the Mercer County chapter of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). 

As a parent of children with ADHD, she has gained hands-on experience in the field.  She has been working with kids, families, and teachers through the years to help them develop understanding and strategies for working with children with ADHD. Her presentation will cover the topics of: what is ADHD, what are the behaviors, and what are the executive functions.  Parenting strategies will also be discussed.

Free childcare will be available at Lawrence High School during the workshop.
