VIDEO: Princeton Scientist Killed During Anchor House Ride

A 16-year veteran of the ride died when he collided with an SUV on the final day of the event

A renowned Princeton scientist was killed on Saturday morning on the final day of the 33rd annual Anchor House Ride for Runaways, a 500-mile bicycle ride that raises money for the Trenton-based shelter for runaway, abused and neglected children and teens, according to NJ.com.

Doug McCune, 55, of Princeton, died when he collided with a SUV in Clinton Township, Pa.

McCune developed software used to understand the physics of fusion experiments. He was the co-head of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory’s computational plasma physics group.
