After drawing huge crowds and traffic to the area, Bamboozle will not be returning to Asbury Park next summer, according to an article by the Asbury Park Press.
“Live Nation has informed us that at least for Bamboozle – because of the economics of doing it in Asbury Park and where the city is and where they are – it won’t work here,” City Manager Terence Reidy said in the article.
The event drew 90,000 people to event which featured bands such as Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters and Incubus.
The event caused severe traffic on Route 36 and at Monmouth Park, where shuttles took people to and from Asbury Park for the three-day festival.
A new location for Bamboozle has not yet been set, the article states. Bamboozle was held in Asbury Park from 2003 to 2005 before moving to the parking lot of the Meadowlands Sports Complex from 2006 to 2011.
