A Long Valley man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Mendham Township after being pulled over for motor vehicle violations, Lt. Vito Abrusci said.
Robert Sikorski, 50, was stopped for not having operational lights and failing to turn in a marked lane, Abrusci said. When the Mendham Township officer approached the vehicle, he smelled alcohol coming from the car and requested Sikorski conduct a field sobriety test, Abrusci said.
Sikorski then failed the sobriety tests and was arrested, Abrusci said. En route to the police station, Sikorski provided breath samples, which revealed he was above the legal limit, Abrusci said.
Sikorski was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, maintenance of lamps and failure to turn.
