The long-time movie and game rental center, Blockbuster, sitting on the border of Washington Township and Hackettstown, will be going out of business in the coming months.

A massive 'Store Closing' sign is now posted above the bright blue awning, facing Route 46. Everything inside the store is up for grabs–and discounted–from store fixtures like TVs and shelving to movies and games.

The employees of the store found out about the closing just a couple of weeks ago, manager Scott Weiland said. Weiland has worked at the location for eight years.

"We don't have a specific closing date," Weiland said. "Everything's kind of been 'fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants.'"

Employees at the store said the final closing will take place sometime in June, from what they know.

All sales will be final on any purchases in the store, and prices will continue to drop between now and closing. The store currently has 11 employees.
