Members of the community have been invited to participate in a golf outing that will benefit the Senior Resource Center (SRC) of Chester on Monday, Sept. 24 at Black Oak Golf Club in Long Valley.

The 3rd Annual Patricia G. Durkin Memorial Golf Outing and Charity Event will benefit the SRC in providing valuable resources to the area’s senior population, along with supporting the American Lung Association in its continued research for a cure.

The event will begin with an 11 a.m. registration and box lunch, followed by a noon start with cocktail hour, hors d’oeuvres and awards ceremony after players are finished.

Admission fee for the event is $150 per player or $550 for a foursome. Sponsorships are still available (see brochure attached as PDF to this article).

Durkin was responsible for the inception of the Senior Resource Center, and her “vision and passion was to make life better for others,” according to the event’s organizers.

The Senior Resource Center, located at Church of the Messiah in Chester, provides nutrition and exercise programs and support for families and caretakers in the Chester and Long Valley area.
