East Mill Road Crash Sends 2 to Hospital, Cops Say
Long Valley man, Chester resident collide Friday afternoon, shutting down roadway for more than an hour.
The pick-up truck, heading westbound, was driven by a 65-year-old Chester resident when it collided with a Toyota sedan heading eastbound, being driven by a 25-year-old man from Long Valley, Lt. Mark Niemynski said.
Both men were injured as a result of the crash, and police have not released the names of those involved.
The Long Valley man sustained scrapes and injuries to his head, Niemynski said. The Chester man sustained chest and abdominal injuries, resulting in the need to be airlifted to Morristown Medical Center. The landing zone was set up at Chubb Park in Chester.
Both men needed to be extracted from their vehicles as a result of the crash, Niemynski said. It was not yet determined who was at fault for the collision.
East Mill Road was closed between Coleman and Bartley Roads for more than an hour. The Long Valley and Chester First Aid Squads, Long Valley Fire Company and Paramedics were on scene to assist.
