Roads Clearing, Power Coming Back, Mayor Says

Several JCP&L crews are working throughout Washington Township Friday morning, according to Mayor Ken Short.

In his midday update to residents, Short said wires on Bartley Road had been removed Thursday night and the road is now open. Wires in the area of Naughright Road have also been removed, and Patch is being told by residents Cucinella School has also had power restored. One wire does remain down in that area, and it is a "trunk" line from Verizon, Short said.

"It was stated to me, by JCP&L, that as a certain area gains power many other homes will also regain their power," Short said in the updated. "The DPW have spoken to crews throughout the Township and have made them aware of all of the areas that need restoration."

Communications will continue through the Township website, Long Valley Patch, WRNJ radio (1510 AM), Observer Tribune website, Nixle, Twitter, and digital sign boards, Short said.

As of 12:45 p.m. Friday, JCP&L power outage map showed 2,152 residents without electricity.
