Easter Fun Fest Continues Successful Tradition

Madison Chamber of Commerce vice president thanks all of those who participated in seventh annual event.

Easter Fun Fest Continues Successful Tradition
To the editor:

On behalf of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce I would like to thank all of the families who came downtown on Saturday, April 12 to celebrate Easter with all the businesses.  Our 7th Easter Fun Fest was a great success thanks to your participation.

The sun was out and shining throughout the day and helped make our event very successful. Families came and enjoyed exchanging greetings and spending time with the Easter Bunny while collecting Easter eggs around town.

Families got to take a chance to win a bicycle donated by Peter Daniele of Rose City Collision, 291 Main St. and supplied the Madison Bicycle Shop, 14 Kings Rd.  The winner of the bicycle was the Weinstein Family of New Providence.  In addition to the bicycle, they also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers by Coviello Brothers, 245 Main St., and an Easter basket filled with car wash coupons and cleaning products donated by Ken Maietta, owner of Madison Car Wash, 267 Main St.

Our 2nd and 3rd prize winners received Easter baskets full of candy and toys donated by Walgreens, 122 Main St., and the Madison Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s jelly bean contest was once again a highlight of the event with Andrew Zielinski of Madison winning a 10 gallon aquarium fish tank and gift card donated by Ned Finn owner of The Madison Pet Shop, 26 Main St.  The parents of the winner also received flowers and a basket from the Madison Car Wash.

A very special thank you to Mayor Bob Conley for his participation and support during the event.  Many thanks to the volunteers:  John Morris, Karen Meyer, Ken Toumey, Danielle Dixon, Carly Heller, Anna Riker, Jane Ewald & Morgan Webster for helping on set up and working the Chamber table.  Special thanks to Meg Westie for entertaining the children as our Easter Bunny and a special thanks to Frank Iannorone of the Madison Pharmacy, 66 Main St. for donating the balloons. Thanks also goes out to Officer Nicholas Lunetta and Officer Luis Goncalves of the Madison Police Department for traffic control and pedestrian safety.

All business owners were pleased with the Chamber’s Annual Easter Fun Fest and hope that the families that participated and visited their stores will return for future shopping.

Thank you to the many that came out for this fun family event and for your continued support of the Madison businesses.

Enjoy spring!

Peter Daniele, Vice President
