Fundraiser Set for Paralyzed Police Officer
Madison resident Dave Cuozzo suffered a rare infection last year that has left him paralyzed from the neck down.
Dave Cuozzo, a Union Township police officer, suffered in December a viral infection that has left him paralyzed from the neck down. There is no known cure.
A pig roast fundraiser will be held on Saturday at the St. Vincent Martyr auditorium to benefit Cuozzo, his wife and four children. The event will run from 6:30 to 10 p.m. and adult tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Children ages 6 to 15 are $15 and those under 6 are free.
Tickets include the pig roast, two drink tickets (wine, beer, soda), live music, 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. The community has rallied to donate food, drinks and auction items.
Silent auction items include a one-week stay at a 12-person Adirondack lakefront property; dinner for two at the Park Avenue Club; three-month membership at the Madison Area YMCA; tickets to Drew Forum Lecture series; tickets to Shakespeare Theatre of NJ; a Nespresso Vertuline coffee maker, and more.
The band Jumping the Gun will perform as well as members of the band Rosewood.

Checks should be made payable to the Rotary Club of Madison. For those who cannot attend but wish to donate, checks may be made payable to the Officer Dave Cuozzo Foundation, 981 Caldwell Avenue, Union, NJ 07083.
