NY Jets Get Escort Out of Tunnel From Local Students

Sixth-graders from Florham Park, Madison and Harding selected to take part in Thanksgiving game.

NY Jets Get Escort Out of Tunnel From Local Students

When the New York Jets are introduced at their 8:20 p.m. Thanksgiving game against the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium, 11 sixth-graders from Florham Park, Madison and Harding will be leading them out of the tunnel.

The students "were selected for their commitment and involvement in the Jets Play 60 Challenge," according to a post on the New York Jets website about the Thanksgiving game.

The Jets' practice facility is in Florham Park and cornerback Kyle Wilson visited students in those towns this fall to answer questions, promote exercise and healthy eating, and even participate in scooter races.

Jets Play 60 Challenge challenges students to get at least 60 minutes of exercise a day for four weeks. It is the fourth year the program, created by the NFL and the American Heart Association, has been presented in schools.

During the game, 11 sixth-graders from Florham Park, Madison and Harding, N.J., who were selected for their commitment and involvement in the Jets Play 60 Challenge presented by Kinect for Xbox360 will lead the team out of the tunnel during introductions. Also, each participant will receive an Xbox 360 console with Kinect.
