Borough Council: Madison's governing body is scheduled to meet Monday. The public portion of the meeting starts at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers at Hartley Dodge Memorial. A public hearing and vote on an ordinance spelling out the process for promoting senior police officers is on the agenda. A resolution authorizing Madison to execute a health services agreement with Springfield is among the other items up for vote.

Friends of Madison Shade Trees Fundraiser: Poor Herbie's is hosting a Friends of Madison Shade Trees fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, with 10 percent of proceeds donated to FMST. Mike Sodano is performing live.

Library Closed: The Madison library is closed this week and next week for an asbestos removal project. Events by outside organizations at the Chase Auditorium still are on.

Wreath Sale: The Madison Historical Society’s Annual Holiday Wreath Sale is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hartley Dodge Memorial. The wreaths and table and mantle decorations are made by members of the Historical Society, the Madison Garden Club, and Madison High School art students. Funds will go toward restoring the small out building on the Luke Miller forge site, which will be used to showcase revolutionary era artifacts found on the historic property. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about Madison history, view historic photos and listen to jazz pianist Jerry Vezza.
