MAHWAH, N.J. – (April 15, 2014) – The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Mahwahwill be collecting food donations for the Center for Food Action as part of “Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Days,” in which each of the real estate company’s 56 offices in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. will be giving back to local communities through charitable efforts April 24-26. The second annual Cares Days event is organized through the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm.

Sales associates affiliated with the Mahwah real estate office are collecting canned good and non-perishable food items at ShopRite in Ramsey (2 Interstate Shopping Center) on Thursday, April 24 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. to benefit the Center for Food Action. The 818 Wyckoff Avenue real estate office will also serve as a drop-off point for food donations.

“We are greatly appreciative of any help the community can provide by donating to our food drive that supports such a great cause,” said Patti Jalal, branch vice president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Mahwah. “Now and every day, the sales associates of this company prove that Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage cares!”

The office also held a jewelry party and wine auction on April 9 that raised funds for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares. Premier Designs Jewelry sales representative Renee Weisbecker, who hosted the jewelry party, is generously donating 50 percent of the proceeds to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares, which will distribute the funds to local charities.

Since its inception in 2005, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. has given more than $626,000 to charities supporting local communities, along with countless volunteer hours donated by the company’s sales associates.

During the first annual Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Days event in 2013, approximately 800 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates volunteered a combined 5,000 hours to support 62 different organizations and causes. During the three-day event, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation raised $13,000 for charitable causes, as well as collecting 5,000 pounds of food valued at $13,900 and $750 in dog and cat supplies.
