Council Approves Signs For Laforet Recall Campaign

Councilman read a statement that Laforet told him to get the council to vote 'no' to the signs or 'things in this town will get worse."

The Township Council granted a group permission to post signs regarding an effort to recall Mayor William Laforet at a meeting Thursday.

Prior to the vote being taken, Councilman Steve Sbarra read a statement on the record that Laforet approached him Tuesday after an Affordable Housing Commission meeting to try and sway the council’s judgment, NorthJersey.com reported.

Sbarra reportedly told the website that Laforet told him that he “needs to talk to your fellow council members and make sure they vote ‘no’ to the signs or things in this town will get worse’,” Sbarra stated.
