Mahwah Barn Burns To The Ground Monday Night

A barn in the Fardale section of town burned to the ground after it was completely engulfed in flames Monday night.

The Mahwah Fire Department responded to the scene at about 7 p.m., a post on the department’s Facebook page said.

Several fire apparatuses were dispatched. Ladder Four and Tanker 425 knocked down the fire and Engine 217 supplied water from a nearby fire hydrant, the department said.

No one was in the barn when firefighters arrived and there were no injuries reported, the post stated. Wyckoff Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The scene was cleared at about 9 p.m.

The Facebook post did not say how the fire started.
