“Apparently, the driver did not know there was a leak from either his fuel tank or fuel pump,” Stio said. “So, he drove from 287 to 17 to West Ramapo Ave., turned around to get back on 17, and went to Macarthur [Boulevard] and Ridge Road spilling fuel the whole way.”

According to Stio, the truck driver called township responders at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, after reaching his destination on Ridge Road and realizing he had a leak.
