Clark Mills School December Highlights

A compilation of the school’s highlights from December.

Clark Mills School December Highlights

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

First Grade Assembly Program

Representatives from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office visited our school to teach our first graders “when and how” to use 9-1-1. Our first grade students thoroughly enjoyed the video, the live demonstration of a 9-1-1 call, and the coloring book that they received. We were very fortunate to have such an important program presented to our first graders.

The Gift of Giving

Staff and students participated in the Clark Mills School Giving Tree Program once again this year. The winter holidays are a very special time of year and there are families within our community who need assistance during this time. I would like to sincerely thank all the Clark Mills families who agreed to participate in our Giving Tree Program and sent in gifts for children in need. It was such a pleasure conversing with our students each morning as they dropped off gifts for others and got to experience the joy of “giving” during this holiday season.

Also, we would like to extend a big thank you to our Clark Mills staff and familiesfor their generous donations to staff members affected by Hurricane Sandy. During this difficult time, you were able to put a smile on the faces of our dedicated teachers affected by this natural disaster. Thank you!

Clark Mills Has Spirit

The year’s Spirit Week at Clark Mills School was a blast for all! Our Student Council members met and selected Sports Day, PJ Day, Decade Day, Crazy Hair Day and Class Selected Day. The enthusiasm generated by staff and students was remarkable!

Clark Mills Singers

On Thursday, December 20, 2012, the Clark Mills Chorus serenaded staff and students during arrival time with holiday melodies. All staff and students were dressed in their cozy pajamas and listened to the talented chorus sing and get everyone in the holiday spirit. What a great way to start the day!

Bowl- A- Rama

The Clark Mills physical education teachers, Mrs. Douglas and Mrs. Byrnes, turned the Cark Mills gym into a bowling alley! The pins were set up, teacher-created dividers divided the lanes, and the students even learned how to keep score correctly. What an unbelievable experience for our students! A big thank you to our physical education teachers for always finding ways to motivate our students and connect learning to the real-world!
