Two home burglaries within Manalapan Township have resulted in the theft of $9,050 worth of jewelry, the Manalapan Police Department has reported.
Several pieces of jewelry, estimated at $6,800, were stolen from a Crawford Road home sometime between Nov. 22 and Nov. 25, according to the victim of the theft. The victim, a woman, told police that the jewelry belonged to her deceased mother.
The woman also indicated to police that multiple home health care aids were within the home during the time of the theft. The burglary was reported to police on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
Approximately $2,250 worth of jewelry was stolen from a West Canadian Woods home on Thursday, Dec. 6. According to police, an unknown individual forced entry into the residence through a window located at the back of the house.
The homeowner, a 44-year-old woman, told Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis that no one was home at the time of the burglary, which happened between 6:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
