Report: SADC Defers Decision on Mayor's Farm Deal

The State Agriculture Development Committee decided to postpone their decision about providing Manalapan Mayor Andrew Lucas $1.15 million to preserve his farm, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Lucas' farmland acquisition has been the topic of heated debate with both and questioning his motives and reasons for keeping the cost of the farm a secret.

This was just one of the many agenda items the SADC covered in their meeting on Thursday morning. The committee decided to defer the case back to the Monmouth County Freeholder and Agriculture Development boards due to "allegations of a conflict of interest", the APP reported that committee members said.
