Bradley Beach Man Named In 18-Count Indictment

A Bradley Beach man was indicted this week on a slew of charges stemming from a recent residential burglary in Asbury Park, according to court documents.

A Monmouth County grand jury handed up an 18-count indictment charging Andrew Armentrout, 30, and an accomplice with armed robbery, weapons and drug charges stemming from a November 26 residential burglary, according to the indictment.

Armentrout and Tyler Marshall, 26, of Hamilton, are charged with:

  • Armed robbery
  • Conspiracy
  • Burglary
  • Unlawful possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for an illegal purpose
  • Making terroristic threats
  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute
  • Possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school with the intent to distribute
  • Possession of a weapon in the course of committing a drug crime

Armentrout was separately charged with theft, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence, attempted escape and as a person who is not to have a weapon, according to the indictment.

Armentrout has been convicted on burglary charges five times since 2001 and was convicted once on drugs charges, the indictment says. 

Hamilton also was separately charged as being a person not allowed to have a weapon and one count of tampering with evidence. 

Each man also was charged with two counts of sentencing enhancers, according to the indictment.
