Agenda: Tuesday Manchester Township Council Meeting

Meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Complex courtroom

Agenda: Tuesday Manchester Township Council Meeting

Members of Manchester's Township Council will take public comment and vote on establishing the Office of Emergency Management when they meet Tuesday evening.

Though the office already exists and is staffed, the ordinance introduced at the governing body's last meeting creates it within the Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Services, and puts the responsibilities of those already working there into the township code, Clerk Sabina Skibo last month.

"This clearly spells out the Emergency Management Coordinator and his function as far as fire departments and first aid squads, so we needed to clarify that," she said at the time.

The council will also consider other items during its 6 p.m. meeting in the Municipal Complex courtroom, including authorizing an extension of the grace period for tax payment, according to the draft agenda posted to the township's website

The Township Council typically meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month, but the Columbus Day holiday on Oct. 8 meant a rescheduling to Tuesday.
