There are many events going on this weekend -- especially on Saturday -- in Maplewood that will get you in the true holiday spirit. Here are just a few; for more fun things to do, check out the  Maplewood Patch Events Calender.

***Kick off the weekend with the annual  Maplewood Village Holiday Open House on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Enjoy decorations and refreshments as you stroll through town. Over 20 merchants will be participating this year, including Words Bookstore, Little One & Co., Tenth Muse, Scriverner's, KoKoRo, Alchemy Hour, CLICK Learning Center, Hopscotch, Bee & Thistle, Shed, Village Wine Shop, Lotus Petals and Highland Place/Cranes - and more.

Geralyn's Art Studio (103 Baker Street) will feature artist Erica Breskin's new line of jewelry from 10:30 - 5 p.m. Shop local and support local artists at the same time.

For a full list of participating businesses, visit the Maplewood Village Website page here. Or just follow the red and green balloons through town.

***The 7th Annual Buy Art Now Guys (BANG 7) small works show opens this weekend at the 1978 Arts Center on Springfield Avenue. Dec. 1, 2, 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day. The exhibition features original artwork created by over 40 local and regional artists. Drop by 1978 to meet some of the artists, and enjoy some amazing work.

***The Theater Project presents its holiday production of  “It’s A Wonderful Life: The Radio Play” at the Burgdorff Center on Saturday at 3 p.m. The show recreates the Lux Radio Theater circa 1947, where the company prepares for the big broadcast of the story made famous in the Frank Capra film. Family friendly, admission is free for children; $20 suggested donation for adults. A pre-show sing-along begins at 2:45 p.m.

***Still rarin' to go? Don't forget the Studio B Story Slam/Dance Party on Saturday 8 p.m., at the Maplewood Woman's Club. RSVP to the invite at studiobmaplewood@gmail.com. Dance the night away!

***For a more sedate but no less enjoyable evening, The Maplewood Glee Club Winter Concert is on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Prospect Presbyterian Church, 646 Prospect Street. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door; $20 adults, $15 students.
