Most Maplewood residents are without water today — and will be for the foreseeable future according to a rep of NJ American Water.
NJ American Water reports that there is a breach int he supply and no water service to most of our area. There is no estimated time for restoration of services. However, NJ American Water stipulates that all customers boil water for at least one minute when service is restored.

Flooding at New Jersey American Water’s Canoe Brook Water Treatment Plant has impacted water supply for customers several municipalities in Essex and Union Counties. Customers in West Orange, Millburn, Maplewood, Irvington, and Springfield may experience being without water or low water pressure. New Jersey American Water crews are working to restore water service to the impacted areas.
“If you have water, please use water for essential needs only while we work to restore critical services,” said Steve Tambini, vice president for operations. Customers can report water outages by calling the Customer Service Center at 1-800-652-6987.
Earlier today, New Jersey American Water issued a boil water advisory for customers in West Orange, Short Hills, Millburn, Maplewood, Irvington, Springfield and Summit, which remains in effect until further notice.
