PSE&G released Sunday as an estimated date of power restoration to Maplewood.

From most recent PSE&G press release: Essex County-- Of the 346,260 customers in Essex County, 251,000 customers lost electricity. As of Saturday morning, 122,400 customers remain out of service.-- PSE&G has restored service to 65% of the customers in Newark and will be working in the city all weekend.-- Crews will be also be focusing on Irvington, West Orange, Montclair, East Orange, Bloomfield, Maplewood, Orange and Belleville this weekend.

PSE&G has restored power to some homes in Maplewood as of late Friday evening, according to Mayor Vic DeLuca and residents posting on Maplewood's Facebook Page. 

Posters confirmed power coming back on in certain areas of the Hilton section, Golf Island and the area by the Maplewood Golf Course east of Valley Road: "Broadview ave and Manley terrace have power now," wrote one. Others said power was back on Rynda Road, Marie Place, a portion of Concord Avenue, Park Avenue and S. Pierson.

The Springfield Avenue Partnership posted at around 6 p.m.: "We are getting reports from some of the Springfield Avenue District businesses that power is being restored and they are opening for business. Yay!"

The SAP also reported that the Walgreen's on Springfield Avenue will be open for business Saturday at 8 a.m. (although all their perishable food has been destroyed).

In an update on its website Friday night at 9:30 p.m., PSE&G reported it had restored service to more than 1 million PSE&G customers statewide, leaving 660,000 customers still without power. 

The utility estimates they will have "virtually all" impacted customers restored to service by Nov. 9, though it might be longer for residents with flooding or downed line issues.  

At shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, PSE&G tweeted, "Love sharing GOOD NEWS. Significant progress, we've repaired 7 substations. Subs are the backbone of our system & had to be repaired 1st." Once substations are repaired, PSE&G can start moving trees and getting small circuits back faster. 

In the release, PSE&G said also it was focusing on: restoring power to gas refinieries, identifying gas stations that need power restored to get gas flowing, and clearing trees and downed wires to allow for repair of overhead lines.
