Guest speaker, Bernard Jones, MBCI, CBCP, CORP, Risk and Business Continuity Officer at The City University of New York (CUNY) presented to more than 100 small businesses in the community at the business networking seminar, held at Royal Manor in Garfield, N.J., on October 29, 2013.
Spencer Savings Bank welcomed its business customers and local business owners to attend the complimentary seminar to discuss disaster recovery and the importance of creating a continuity plan, in order to continue operating the business in the face of interruption and to enhance the recovery process. Attendees learned about various types of disasters that could occur, explored their experiences last year during Superstorm Sandy, and completed a self-assessment to indicate how well-prepared they are for potential disasters. Jones provided attendees with proper planning techniques and best practices, to ensure long-term business success.
