Boy Scouts from Matawan commemorated Veterans Day this weekend with a historic trip to the nation’s capital.

Joined by their leaders, 30 scouts from Troop 66 of Matawan took a four day weekend trip to Washington D.C. which culminated in a visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. There, the scouts placed a memorial wreath, according to the troop.

Matawan’s Boy Scout Troop 66 was formed in 1955 and has been led by Scoutmaster Robert Shea for more than 30 years, according to the organization.
